Portici milanesi all’alba, verso le guglie del Duomo
Our story

Since 1911, the Milanese measure

Made in Italy, always

Elegance that lasts, not that shouts

From Samuele Del Mare’s cloth benches in late-nineteenth-century Livorno to the windows on Corso Europa in Milan: Del Mare 1911 has dressed generations of Italian professionals. We return with the same discipline — cloth, cut, honest price — and a direct channel: no middlemen, only the right piece.

Raw material

Super 120s, two-ply cotton, extrafine merino and cashmere from selected Italian mills.

Making

Suits made in Puglia, knitwear in Tuscany, accessories between Lombardy and Veneto.

Fit

Regular, Slim and Soft Structure. Size assistant and a clear guide to get it right first time.

The supply chain

Cloth that speaks of place

Every piece states where it begins: the mill, the corozo button, the right district for the making.

The relaunch

A new chapter, the same signature

From 2025 a new ownership brings Del Mare 1911 back where it belongs: first uniforms for companies — banks, insurers, hospitals — then e-commerce, and a Milan shop by 2027.

The timeline

A century of measure

Four moments that explain why we cut this way.

  1. t:about.tl1_title
    1911

    Livorno, the cloth bench

Samuele Del Mare sells wool and cotton lengths in a shop two steps from the port. He learns to read a cloth by touch: the one skill we have passed on intact.

  2. t:about.tl2_title
    1968

    Milan, the Corso Europa windows

The family brings the trade to the city and opens the first boutiques. Ready-to-wear tailoring becomes our language: the care of a made-to-measure piece, on ready-to-wear time.

  3. t:about.tl3_title
    2016

    The uniform years

Twelve million in turnover and the wardrobes of large Italian companies. Dressing thousands of people teaches a discipline the window does not: the size must come back, every time.

  4. t:about.tl4_title
    2025

    The return, without middlemen

New ownership reopens the house. First companies, then direct sale: no wholesaler between the cloth and the wearer. A Milan address by 2027.
